Westinghouse is proud to announce that we are the Official Jersey Partner for the Metropolitan Riveters for the 2022-2023 Premier Hockey Federation (PHF) season. The Riveters, who’s name and crest are based on the original famed “We Can Do It” poster, is one of the nation’s premier women’s hockey teams. Artist J. Howard Miller created the poster in 1943 to boost morale in Westinghouse factories which had an increasingly large female workforce at the time due to the war effort. "We are so excited about this iconic partnership, because the historic "Rosie The Riveter" poster created by artist J. Howard Miller was produced for the Westinghouse Electric & Manufacturing Company,” said Riveters President Digit Murphy. "If you look closely at Rosie's original shirt, she's wearing a Westinghouse Electric Badge on her collar. Today, the Metropolitan Riveters are proud to wear Westinghouse on our ‘work shirts’ as well.”
Founded in 2015, the team represents the greater New Jersey and New York region and plays home games at the American Dream in East Rutherford N.J. For more information, visit https://lnkd.in/ghMXXema.
