GENERATOR (COMMON)

Yes, all our generators include at least oil, oil funnel, and spark plug wrench. The only additional items required are fuel and any grounded 3-prong extension cords (marked for outdoor use and rated for the electrical load) you wish to use.

The life of any generator set is dependent on the care it receives, adherence to maintenance schedules, and the conditions under which it operates. Consult the user manual for schedules and operating recommendations.

Dimensions designated as "Assembled" include the wheels.

All small engine products sold by Westinghouse are CARB Compliant and should be available for sale in CA (WH2200iXLT not included). Occasionally, these certificates expire within Amazon's filing service and must be resubmitted to Amazon by us. Residual oil from the factory may remain in the engine when shipped due to factory testing, but the generator is new/not used.

NO. Generators produce carbon monoxide, an odorless gas that can kill you in minutes. Only use OUTSIDE and at least 20 ft. away from windows, doors, and vents as recommended by the US Department of Health and Human Services Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Reference your Manual/Quick Start Guide to ensure the unit is set up properly, the correct oil and gas are used, and that the unit is located on a level surface that is outside away from any doors, windows or vents. High Ambient Temperatures - Make sure the generator has plenty of unobstructed airflow, keep the Genset clean, and use oil of the proper viscosity. Low Ambient Temperatures - Keep the spark plug clean and properly gapped, and use oil of the proper viscosity. Dusty Conditions - Keep the Genset clean, service the air filter more often than scheduled, and change the oil more often than scheduled.

Westinghouse Portable Generators are designed for emergency or remote use. They are not intended to be the main substitute for the utility power supply or a home backup generator.

The circuit breakers will automatically switch OFF if there is a short circuit or a significant overload of the generator at each receptacle. Do not overload the generator’s capacity. Exceeding the generator’s wattage/amperage capacity can damage the generator and/or electrical devices connected to it. Consult the User Manual for your specific unit.

As quickly as unplugging all connected electrical loads and resetting the circuit breakers. If an AC circuit breaker switches OFF automatically, check that the appliance is working correctly and does not exceed the rated load capacity of the circuit before resetting the AC circuit breaker/s.

There is no industry standard for testing sound level of a generator. Westinghouse tests under its own conditions to determine the published sound level as a means of comparing one Westinghouse generator to another. Measurements are taken at an average distance of 25 ft.

No. All Westinghouse generators have 4-stroke motors. Use of 2-stroke/cycle oil or other unapproved oil types can cause severe engine damage that is not covered under warranty.

On a level surface, remove the oil dipstick and wipe clean. Screw the dipstick fully into the filler neck. Remove the dipstick and verify that the oil level is within a safe operating range between the Low (L) and High (H) marks on the dipstick.

A quick-connect battery plug is pre-installed on the battery. Remove the cable tie securing the plugs then push firmly to connect them. Ensure that the positive (red) cable is connected to the positive terminal and the negative (black) cable is connected to the negative terminal. The cables and quick-connect plug must be fastened in order to charge the battery. The WGen12000 and WGen12000DF are the ONLY models with a battery that do not have quick-connect cables.

Most units contain either a battery charger cable or float charger. The float charger will show a red indicator light when charging and green when fully charged. Consult your manual to determine which charger came with your unit and how often the battery should be charged.

Detach the nozzle from the spray lance. Use a nozzle cleaning tool to loosen any particles in the nozzle. Flush with water.

Make sure the pressure washer hose is free of all water before storing for winter.
